Coming soon

New Bishop!

Did you know that a new Bishop of Rochester has been appointed?  His name is James Langstaff and he is currently Bishop of Lynn in the Diocese of Norwich.  You can find out more about him on the Diocese's website:

Bishop James will be joining the Diocese later this year.

Mothers' Union

Christ Church has a lively Mothers' Union group with a varied programme of activities...  coming up soon is a Summer Garden Party on 26th August at 2.30 pm at 34, Whitehill Road...  new members are always welcome - contact us if you would like to know more.

Come and Sing!

Children aged between 7 and 18 are invited to Christ Church to come and sing for the day on 25th September. Learn some new songs... have fun... and join in a drumming concert.  There will be a (free) concert of all that the children have learnt at 5pm. All are welcome, including members of other churches.  An application form is available on this site... click the link on the home page.

Come and pray!

The Warrior Chapel (to the right of the choir stalls) has been transformed into a space for prayer and contemplation. Use it before or after services, or any other time that you are in the church.

Back to Church Sunday

A warm welcome to everyone - it's a great day to try out church for the first time. Come to church at 10 am on Sunday 26th September.

Harvest Celebrations - A Celebration of all our Gifts

This year we are celebrating all that God has given us, in crops, material possessions and talents - and giving back to God in gratitude.

We begin on Saturday 9th October at 7.30pm with the world premiere of the Film 'A year in the life of Christ Church'  filmed by Ray Green during the year 2009.  A chance to celebrate all that goes on in the church and all the many talents that help it come together. There will be refreshments in the interval.

On Sunday we give thanks at an all-age Harvest Celebration service of Holy Communion, followed by a shared lunch. Finally, the choir lead us in a choral Book of Common Prayer Evensong at 6.30pm.

New look 2nd Sundays!

The 2nd Sunday of each month is an all-age service of Holy Communion. Each month the service will reflect a particular theme and the words and music will be chosen to provide something for all, from the oldest to the youngest.  We are always delighted to welcome our uniformed organisations, who join us for these services.

Next All-age service on 12th September - 'What's in your backpack' - children are invited to bring their schoolbags to church!
