Christ Church and RMAChrist Church has enjoyed a long association with the Royal Marines Association, since 48 Commando Royal Marines left from Christ Church for the D-Day landings.
The Chapel to the right of the altar is known as the ‘Warrior Chapel’ and has a number of items marking the church’s association with the Marines.
Members of the local association, and veterans of 48 Commando, participate in the service on Remembrance Sunday and in the Annual Memorial Service for 48 Commando Royal Marines in May. |
