Christ Church pre-school
Newsletter
Hello and welcome to term 4. Some of you may have noticed we have a new shed built for our equipment, we have had some shelves fitted and there is so much more room. It is much easier for the children to be able to choose play equipment. I am so excited about the extra room (I’m so easily pleased!).
I hope the following Information is of use to you.
Update
Do you have a new mobile number, change of address or a change in medical history then it is important to tell me. I have also attached a form for you to complete. Will you please send this back in ASAP.
Also if your child is away from pre-school either through sickness or other will you please inform me either by telephone or you can leave a text message. This is especially important if we claim funding for your child.
Some of you may have noticed that Anna Monk is no longer with us. For now staff have increased their hours to cover this. Some of the children will need to have a new key person and you will be informed of this in due course.
I am assuming that those children that are of to school in September have applied for their place at school! Please will you let me know when you have been offered a place and where. I will assume that all children not going to school will be with us in September.
Topics
This term we are covering a variety of topics, these include:-
1. Witches and wizards
2. Mothers day
3. Easter
We always where possible follow children’s interest, please let us know if your child has become interested in something outside of pre-school and if we can we will incorporate it into our planning
We leave a sheet informing you about the current topic and asking for items that they be bought into school. This can be found in the lobby where the coats are left.
We also plan to have a notice board in the lobby telling you about what snack has been on offer this week.
I am sure you will have noticed the large board with photographs on it. This showing some of the area that are covered in the early years foundation guidance that we follow.
Story Groups
We divide the children into three groups for story. We thought it would be nice for each group to have a sharing board. We thought children and staff could display photo’s posters, pictures of items that are of interest to your child. For example a photo of a pet, favourite toy at home, family pictures, holiday snaps, postcards, drawings etc. If these pictures can come in to school with your child’s name on the back so we can return it when we change the display.
We would like to invite parents, carers or grandparents to come into school to read the children a story. This can be on an ad-hoc basis. If you are interested could you please see Michelle.
